Before I say any thing further, I want to clarify that I am NOT asking for any action but want to point out to a unique Gandhigiri protest idea proposed by one of our members:
On one of the posts rajmehrotra suggested "Something like a mass blood donation drive will garner empathy and publicity in a positive way." This was seconded by another member Gravitation. Not sure what other people think but I personally liked this idea very much.
So please save this idea for future use if others also recommend it.
So you thought that because the flower campaign worked, we should come up with a similar approach.. As IV has suggested, make awareness by meeting your lawmakers , put yourself on youtube, contribute to IV etc. if you really want to campaign. Just giving blood which perhaps would not be donated is insane.

Hi,
My husband and my EAD and AP renewal time is approaching. We were thinking to do it ourselves but we don't know how to do it.
Could you please guide us in self filing?
a) Is there E- renewals? What about photographs for such renewals?
b) What documents are required for renewing?
c) Where can we find information regarding EAD and AP renewals?

What are chances of Dream Act? --> No one can predict. Depends on how Bush era tax cut bill goes through. Dems has added few provision to please Republicans so they are improving chances.
What are the chances of including our provisions in the bill? --> At this point Republicans want enforcement. They may not bargain for legal immigration in this bill. Rather they may prefer to add some tough rule for dreamers.
What happens if the bill passes without our provisions? ---> We will still have a chance to have our bill as piecemeal or just sit and watch
What happens if the bill fails? --> I hope they get it done, Dreamers are more enthusiastic than us and unless they get it these lawmakers will not think about us. Also they can set example that piecemeal is possible.
WHAT ARE OUR CHANCES IN 2011? --> As I said if dreamer can get their bill done, and CHC doesn't hold any piecemeal in future chances are there. but I doubt CHC will allow any legal immigration bill until Dems are in power of either of house.

Just an update -
I just called USCIS for the FP notice and she mentioned that the appointment has been ordered but the notice has not been sent yet. Probably because the newark ASC must be overbooked. She asked me to wait for 30 days from now and if I don't receive anything, call them back.
Will wait and hope...

As veni001 stated to extend H1B beyond 6 yrs don't we need to have Approved 140? and you said your 140 was withdrawn after approval. So withdrawn 140 has no effect on H1B extension. Did you submit the 140 documents also to USCIS? my email id is kalyan.cdev at gmail.com please drop me an email with the details..

I am in the similar situation but we never know when and what documents are needed since every day immigration law is changing, keeping that in mind, I renewed mine and my spouse�s EAD

There is a sudden change of plan. My company wants me in US for two months - March 15 - May 15. Then i have to go back to India till Dec 09 and come back to join work from Jan 2010. My questions -
1. Will i be facing any questions at the immigration (point of entry) when i come back on Jan 2010?
2. Any other situation or scenario that i should be aware of?
3. If i receive pay check for just two months in 09, will there be a problem when i file taxes for 2009?
4. How long can i stay outside US on a H1b visa?

Need some advice from you all. I concurrently filed for me and my wife's I-485 along with EAD, AP and I-140 for each on Jan, 2007. At the time, I was on my H-1B, however, my wife's H-4 was expired as of Dec. 6, 2006. The reason for this is because I had changed jobs earlier, and the lawyers never filed for her H4 transfer. Only my H1 was transferred to the new company, and she was still on her old H-4.
She received her EAD and AP approvals on April, 2007. I have got my I-140 approved as well. Is there going to be any problem with my wife's I-485?
So, here's the timeline:
June, 2004 - Me and wife on H1 and H4 resp., expiring on Dec., 2006
Jan, 2006 - I changed jobs, got my H1 transferred, which now expired on Oct., 2007. Wife never got her H4 transferred
Jan, 2007 - We filed concurrently for EAD, AP, 140 and 485 (Wife's H4 is already expired as of Dec. 6, 2006)
Apr, 2007 - Both me and my wife got our EAD and AP approved
July, 2007 - I got my 140 approved
Currently - waiting on our I-485

I went to US Consulate Montreal Canada on 3/18/08 and they held back my passport, Copy of LC, Originals of my I 485 and H1/H4. They told me your company is too small 7-8 employees and need to search the company. I had my H1/H4's got stamped in Toronto in 2005 without any problem.
They told me to call me back within 10 days. No Comunication yet.
My I 140 is approved in June 06, Submitted I 485 in June/July 07 got EAD Cards in Oct.-07. I also got my 3 years H1/H4 approvals on Jan-18th, 08.
Any idea how much time they are going to check the status of the company? Does the size of the company really matters? I am paid regularily and my company is a real estate investment firm, due to recent recession the profit of the company is low as compared to previous years. Will this make any difference. I am EB 3 with priority date July 30th, 2003.
Any advise?? Has some one been in the same situation. My older son is in college and has exams on Monday? Any thoughts/suggestions.
